ScissorsHave you ever wanted to move rows or columns of cells in Excel, but struggled to keep the formulas in place when changing the layout of your workbook? Here’s how to move cells in Excel, while keeping formulas intact:

  1. Highlight the cells that you want to move.
  2. Cut the cell (Ctrl + X or right-click and then left-click on Cut).
  3. Left-click once in the upper-left cell where you want to move the cells.
  4. Right-click on that cell, and then left-click on Insert Cut Cells. Any formulas you have established will stay intact. Cells in the affected area will move to the right (if you are pasting column(s) of cells), or down (if you are pasting row(s) of cells).
